It is quite valid to compare the Chelsea/Mourinho situation to that of Real/Del Bosque. No matter how much money or how big the stars--as Real has often proved--you need a man at the helm who knows how to win. Mourinho did what Ranieri couldn't. And look at how the otherwise great manager Jol fails to win. Chelsea has a tough problem to solve now, especially given the added challenge laid down by Abramovich to not only win but win with style, beauty...As Mourinho himself said a few months back: "beauty is a controversial subject in football"... But can we be completely sure it "wasn't his purchase"? It's plain for all to see that Abramovich wanted Shevchenko at the club, but that doesn't necessarily mean that Mourinho didn't want him. Either way, not being able to squeeze a single decent performance out of a player who scored 127 goals in 208 appearances for Milan suggests Mourinho might not actually be the great man-manager he's made out to be...
