Having watched Cristiano Ronaldo gleefully and repeatedly roast Tottenham’s Lee Young-Pyo in this afternoon’s game at White Hart Lane, I would like to retract my earlier statement that left-back is one of the few positions where Spurs possess any strength in depth.
Given Tottenham’s paucity of playing talent in this area, I think it only fair that United stand aside and let them snap up Gareth Bale when the transfer window re-opens in the summer. Lee-Young Pyo + Benoit Assou-Ekotto + Anthony Gardner + Hossam Ghaly + about £5 million should probably do the trick.
